There are many fishies in the sea, and if you’re lucky enough to have caught one, you’re obviously most likely looking forward to Valentine’s Day.
But with Valentine’s Day comes presents, and while you may have told your other half the specific Tiffany and Co. necklace you want, that still leaves the problem of what to get him. Fortunately, collegiettes, I’m here to the rescue with a handy gift guide! Now you can focus on other important things, like what you’re going to wear your new necklace with.
1. Let’s start with the cliche–underwear. A pair of tacky heart-covered boxers will never get old!
2. This can go the other way, too – – give him a Victoria’s Secret gift card and tell him you can pick out his present together…wink wink!
3. What’s his favorite movie or TV series? Get him a DVD of it and promise to spend a whole day snuggled up watching it soon. Include popcorn and a fuzzy new blanket and you’re set–bonus points if it’s Family Guy!
4. If he’s more of a reader, get him a popular new book or one of your favorites. The best present I have ever received by far was a book called “What I Love About You,” a fill-in-the-answer book that was completely filled out. Especially if your guy is the sappy type, it’ll be fun for him to read and discover the sweet things you think about him that you don’t always say aloud.
5. Does the boytoy spend all day on his phone? Get him a unique iPhone case to set him apart from the crowd. Society6.com has amazing ones – – I promise, you’ll end up buying one for yourself too!
6. A watch is a coveted classic. Whether you spend ridiculous amounts of money on a gold-plated Rolex or get your sporty boy a waterproof Nike, he’s sure to think of you every time (ha) he checks the time.
7. Headphones are one of those presents you can’t go wrong with. Whether you splurge on a pair of Dre Beats or just a new workout pair, he’s going to be stoked he can blast his secret Britney stash and have it sound like he’s right there in concert. The Duck Store has ones for about $60 that are boyfriend-approved.
8. This blog had a really cute idea of planning out a date every month for the next year, then buying a gift card and making reservations so all they had to do was pick the day. She put the date ideas in envelopes along with everything they’d need (gift cards to restaurants, museum passes, etc), and they’d get to open it the first day of every month. Depending on how long you’ve been dating, a year may be a little long, but you could do random dates for the next few months.
9. The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, so pick out some delicious recipes and surprise him with a delicious, home-cooked meal. For dessert, make him these cupcakes – – they have hearts in the middle! Too cute.
10. Wake up early together and go someplace to watch the sunrise. If you’re both outdoorsy, and it’s not cloudy outside, the view from the top of Spencer’s Butte would be like none other. Plus those bonding workout endorphins – – yes please! Bonus points if you go home and make breakfast together. Heart-shaped pancakes anyone…?
Of course, no matter what you get him, he’s sure to love it and love his amazing girlfriend for thinking about him. Happy gifting and Happy Valentine’s Day!
