Whether you’re working a 9-5 job, going to school full time or constantly on the go, at some point, you start to lose motivation. Things become overwhelming, stressful and you wake up feeling exhausted. We all have something we’re working on and dreams we’re working towards, but it’s okay to go through these phases and get stuck in a rut. Rather than pushing through a busy week, take a break. Take a morning off or even a day or two to take a step back, rejuvenate and focus on doing something that you love. Whether it’s going for a walk, reading a book or spending the day at your favorite coffee shop, taking these small actions for your well-being can create a motivated and better you. We constantly set a list of goals and to-do list for ourselves and we often get that infinite feeling we can take over the world, but even just after two or three full days of work, our bodies naturally tend to feel worn out. After taking an afternoon break or morning off, you can feel re-inspired and ready to go back to work on projects. We often feel like we need to push through our to-do lists and long stretches of work, but simply allowing yourself to take that moment to re-center yourself after a few days of productivity can establish a motivated routine whenever you start to feel like you’re stuck in a rut.

Hi! I'm Savannah Mendoza, a senior studying photojournalism at University of Oregon. I'm excited to continue to grow and learn about photography and writing through the opportunity of Her Campus.
