Top 5 Aesthetically Pleasing Coffee Shops in Eugene/Springfield Area

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Oregon chapter.

The Eugene coffee scene has grown immensely over the years and is just as eclectic and diverse as the city itself. From brick walls to lighted letter signs to an array of green plants, Eugene celebrates the simple pleasure of drinking coffee by creating an aesthetically pleasing place where everyone feels welcome. Listed below are some of my personal top 5 favorite coffee shops in the Eugene and Springfield area. They’re all “Instagram worthy” and are some of the best places to study or go on a coffee date with friends.

  1. Washburne Cafe: Downtown Springfield On the main street of downtown Springfield, you’ll find a quaint coffee shop with a rustic brick wall, shelves filled with local trinkets and vintage furniture that provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Washburn Cafe is a lovely space to journal, do homework or take pictures. They proudly serve specialty coffee from Bespoken Coffee and gluten-free pastries from Elegant Elephant Baking Co.
  2. Wildwood Cafe & Bar: Downtown Springfield Wildwood Cafe & Bar embodies the Pacific Northwest Lifestyle and fills its space with minimalist, rustic decor, wood textures, potted green plants and a “Stay Wild” mural, perfect for an aesthetic picture opportunity. They opened less than a year ago, but have already established an outdoorsy feel to their space, offering local coffee blends, craft beer, cider, and fresh food. It’s a place where people can gather and stop by along their journey.
  3. Coffee Plant Roasters: West Eugene As soon as you walk into this West Eugene coffee shop, you can smell the fresh aroma of roasted coffee and see the lit up letter sign, “Roast.” The quality coffee is roasted in their time-honored equipment and the interior incorporates clean, wood accents and white walls to give a hip and minimalist feel to the coffee shop. Aside from serving their specialty coffee, they also offer brewed teas, Kombucha, raw juices, and a bakery case filled with various pastries. Whether you’re getting a cup of coffee to go, relaxing, or working on a project, Coffee Plant Roasters will give you a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing vibe as soon as you walk through the doors.
  4. Slightly Coffee Roasters: 545 E 8th Ave, Eugene Slightly is a coffee shop gem on the east side of Eugene you won’t regret stopping by. With all the photographic charms and aesthetic touches of cozy and minimalist decor, Slightly is entering a new wave of cafe styles and roasting techniques. The space is bright with natural light from the oversized windows, and the incorporated colors of pink and white add a cheery and uplifting feel to the shop. The coffee drinks are made from their own high-quality roast, and for a savory treat, they offer avocado toast topped with cream cheese, peppers and drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. You can get the full coffee shop experience at Slightly by ordering a warm cup of coffee along with a side of one of their specialty toasts and seeing local art presented throughout their shop.

  5. Glass House Market: Eugene Whiteaker neighborhood  Glass House Market is the perfect hideaway at the edge of the up-and-coming Whiteaker neighborhood in west Eugene, filled with green plants and an industrial charm. With its quaint coffee shop feel and exquisite latte art, the Glass House Market is a guaranteed Instagram-worthy place for all coffee and plant lovers. Their coffee drinks are made with locally roasted coffee from Equaino Coffee Co. and they offer delicious baked goods from Elephant Baking Co. and Noisette bakery for a sweet treat. The Glass House Market is a cozy and lovely space to spend time at on a Sunday morning.
