You’ve got your holiday outfit all planned out. You’ve bought all the Santa hat and snowflake accessories imaginable. There is probably nothing else you could add to your ensemble and holiday cheer… except your nails! There are so many colors in the various holiday collections this year, it was too difficult to find just specific colors, so I went with specific colors with a theme or just a type of polish that looked amazingly winter-y. One theme that definitely resonated with me though is that you cannot have too much glitter in your life.
Icy blue
Brr! These silver-toned blues will catch everyone’s eye and may require a hat and a scarf to go with it. You will love Macabre Masquerade by ORLY, So Blue Without You by China Glaze, and Lots of Lux by Essie (above).
Ornamental red
How do you find a unique look for a color that is so saturated in the polish market? Throw some sparkle on it of course! Don’t be afraid to wow them with shades like Chyna by Zoya, In My Santa Suit by OPI (above), and Just Be-claws by China Glaze
Christmas tree green
One of my favorites things on Christmas morning is smelling the pine on my tree while drinking hot cocoa in a giant cable knit sweater. With these polishes, your nails can definitely feel that way: Pine Away by Sinful Colors, This is Tree-mendous by China Glaze (above), and Zodiac by Urban Decay.
Snowy Silver
White polish is a little too stark for the snow, perhaps a light colored silver will give snow the shining texture and look it needs. Stay warm by the fire but keep your tips frosty with Seraphina by Zoya, Glory by Illamasqua (above), and Mary by Julep.
Pewter
Okay, so you like the idea of silver and holiday themes, but you want to look a little more punk rock. Yeah, I get it tough girl. Pewter gives that dark overtone while keeping it cool. Try out Warm Me Up by OPI, Cassedy by Zoya, and Kaleidoscope by Chanel.
Sprinkle-y toppers
If you like the colors you already have, then adding a glittery topper will give it new dimension to your mani wardrobe. Warning: do not eat your nails if they look too delicious. Slap on Be Merry Be Bright by China Glaze (above), Mosheen by Zoya, or Peak and Chic by Essie to rival your Christmas cookies!
New Year’s sparkle
What better way to resemble New Year’s Eve fireworks? Like the sprinkle-y toppers above, these could definitely be layered over some base colors! Up your sparkle game with Tomoko by Zoya (above, my NYE look for SURE), All Sparkly and Gold by OPI, and Shake Your Money Maker by Deborah Lippmann.
