10 Dates You Should Totally Go On This Summer!

As summer approaches and final exams are ending, it’s natural to start pondering how to enjoy the warmer weather! A lot of the time, it’s difficult to think of fun plans on the spot, whether you want to spend time with your significant other, family, or some friends. In case you’re stumped on what to do this summer or simply want some summer activities to add to your list, here are 10 dates you should totally go on this summer!

1. Visit your local farmers market!

In the summertime, many towns highlight their local farmers, selling fresh produce, flowers, handmade soaps, and so much more. Whether you need to pick up some fresh ingredients for a meal or buy flowers to sit nicely in your home, visiting your local farmers market is always a fun alternative to the grocery store!

2. Watch the sunset with your favorite dessert in hand

Go to your favorite dessert place nearby, grab a big blanket, and find a park or overlook to watch the sunset with your favorite people! Who doesn’t love a sea of colors painted across the sky?

3. Go to a drive-in movie

Find a drive-in movie place close to you, take a big car or bring some chairs, buy snacks and drinks, and enjoy! You could even find a way to watch project a movie in your backyard if you’re looking for a little project.

4. Take a hike!

Going on hikes is such an underrated summer activityā€“fresh air, good conversation, and some physical activity are such great things to include in your day! So, find a local trail, bring fueling snacks and drinks, put on your best pair of hiking shoes and some sunscreen, then you’re good to go.

5. Go flower picking

What better way to bring in summer than with bright and fresh flowers?! Look up some flower farms nearby, bring some money, and start picking your preferred flowers!

6. Try out a food truck!

Personally, I think that food truck food is so underratedā€“my favorite food back in Cincinnati is at a Mexican street taco truck called Jorge’s Taco Food Truck. If you’re looking for new food to try, I’d definitely recommend visiting a food truck near you or checking out any food truck festivals in your city!

7. Hammock or sit on a blanket in the park

On days you’re looking to relax, simply laying in a hammock in the shade or on a blanket in the sun is guaranteed to make you feel content! If you’re looking to draw, chat, or have a picnic, either option is perfect for the occasion!

8. Visit your local zoo or aquarium!

When warmer weather strikes, all of the animals at the zoo are out! On a rainy day, though, visiting the aquarium is a perfect way to stay out of the rain.

9. Find a cute local brunch place to eat at!

Eating at a place that is both aesthetically pleasing and has good food is such an enjoyable thing to do over the summer! Plus, so many food places have outdoor seating options when the weather warms up, so what’s not to like?

10. Explore a city or village near you

If you’re looking to get out of the house for a day, taking a day trip to a city or village nearby to explore can be so cool! Before going, look up some niche spots to check out, make a list, and then you’re set.
