Whether you’ve heard his name yet or not, Chuck McKeever is someone you’ll want to meet during your time at OSU (but hurry, its his last quarter!). Chuck is the current president of the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega and stays busy through activities within the organization.
Name: Chuch McKeever
Year: Senior
Hometown: Fayetteville, NY
Major/Minor: English/Linguistics
HC: What is your favorite thing about being president of APO?
CM: My favorite thing about being president is getting the chance to watch so many people come together in the spirit of community service, and helping them to do so.
HC: What is the most challenging thing about being president?
CM: The most challenging thing is balancing all of the different kinds of personalities we have. Keeping a handle on our 12-person executive board is hard enough, and it gets even more challenging when you add in 120 more brothers and pledges.
HC: What do you hope to accomplish with APO in your last quarter here?
CM: I really hope that our Founder’s Day of Service is a huge success, and I hope the progress we made in New Orleans over spring break will carry over into all of our service projects
HC: What else keeps your days busy?
CM: Homework usually keeps me pretty busy, but outside of that, I am always reading. I also spend a lot of time hanging out with my friends, and I can be found every Thursday at Lucky’s Stout House. (HC: Take note of that one, ladies!)
HC: And, of course, the inevitable question: what’s your favorite thing about OSU?
CM: My favorite thing about OSU is the sense of tradition that everyone seems so invested in. We have a lot of traditions here, from Mirror Lake to Carmen Ohio, that I don’t feel like other schools can even come close to. My personal favorite is ringing the victory bell after home football wins, and it’s been fantastic to spend the last 2 seasons doing that as a brother of APO.
