If you’re like me and you’re single on Valentine’s Day, let’s get in the lovey-dovey holiday spirit by watching some of my personal favorite rom coms. We can cry, stuff our faces with chocolate and enjoy some great love stories, together. Even if you have a SO, these movies are the perfect way to get in the romantic mood! Here are five of my favorite Valentine’s Day rom-coms:
The Wedding Planner
How can a movie be bad when Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez are the stars? A wedding planner is supposed to make the client’s wedding day the most perfect moment of their life; they’re not supposed to fall in love with the groom, and that’s what makes this movie so good. The intense story and the chemistry throughout this movie are impeccable and make it a can’t-miss movie.
Notting Hill
“Notting Hill” stars Julia Roberts in the role of a famous actress (of course!) who falls in love with an average man from London, played by Hugh Grant. The complicated story between the two is nothing short of inspiring and shows viewers how to truly fight for love.
You’ll be rooting for these two throughout the entire movie.
The Holiday
When you’re feeling unlucky in love, the first thing to do is to trade homes with a stranger from across the world, right?
Well, not exactly, but two women, played by Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet, seem to believe that is the only solution. After trading homes for two weeks, the women may or may not end up miraculously finding their soulmates.
This movie never disappoints and makes me want to pack my things and trade houses…anyone interested?
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Another Matthew McConaughey movie…I’m sorry, but not really. This movie has a unique plot that keeps me on the edge of my seat: a journalist, played by Kate Hudson, is assigned to write a story about how to lose a guy in only 10 days, but she ends up falling for her subject.
On the other hand, her subject, played by McConaughey, makes a bet with friends that he can easily make her fall in love with him in no time.
I told you the plot was interesting.
Crazy, Stupid, Love.
Lastly, on this hard-to-narrow-down list of romcoms, is “Crazy, Stupid, Love.”
No movie will ever have a cast this good. Steve Carrell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore and so many others. Intertwining many tragic and some wholesome love stories, this movie makes you laugh one minute and cry the next.
