Zoe’s Style Blog: Masculine/Feminine Trend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.

Ever thought of wearing men’s clothing?  This fashion season, it’s not as crazy as it sounds.  The masculine/feminine style is trending across the fashion world!  Now, this doesn’t mean you need to start shopping in the men’s department; rather, the new slim and chic menswear interpretations sold at stores like Jcrew, Banana Republic, and The Gap are great options!  They take place of the traditional baggy pants and over-sized button ups and make them into wearable trends for women.  Whether it’s a flawlessly fitted blazer or a pair of comfy tailored trousers, these men-inspired separates are sexy, sophisticated and a comfortable choice for this fall!

Remember when sporting this look to not go too overboard on the masculinity.  You don’t want to end up drowning in your over sized button-up, or looking like a box in your boyfriend blazer.  Because this look has a boyish vibe, it is important to balance it out and accessorize with a few subtle girly accents.  Some accessories to spice up this look would be a purse, chunky bracelets, a long necklace, a fun belt and some amazing shoes to tie this outfit together.  Pointy-toed pumps, peep-toe booties, or some fun flats are great choices of shoes to wear while sporting this trend.  So try out this masculine ensemble with a sexy feminine flair—yet another new trend to spice things up this fall quarter!
