Oswego is well known for its ice hockey team. One of Oswego’s former players got a chance to play in the NHL last season.
His name is Eric Selleck and he played for Oswego for two seasons, starting in 2009, before turning pro. For the 2009-10 season, he was named First Team All-American, as well as the player of the year.
He was signed by the Florida Panthers and has played in the team’s minor league system. During the 2012-13 season, Selleck got called up to play for the Panthers. He made his NHL debut on March 19, 2013.
Currently, Selleck is playing with the San Antonio Rampage.
