Oswego has another alum who works for SportsCenter. This week’s celebrity is Linda Cohn.
While at Oswego, Cohn was the goalie for the women’s ice hockey team. She had so much talent that she was inducted into the Oswego State Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. While she was in high school, she played on the boys ice hockey team.
After being hired by ABC, in 1987, she made sportscasting history when she became the first full-time U.S. female sports anchor on a national radio.
In 1992, Cohn was hired by ESPN to work on SportsCenter.
She also wrote a book, which is a tell-all book anout her rise to the top of the sports world. She also discusses her time with ESPN and her passion for sports in the book.
