As you embark on this new journey, I am so immensely proud of you. You took a leap and a very far one in fact 5 hours away from home you now reside. The first, in your household, to actually go away for college. All alone, this city girl is now confined to this campus in the middle of nowhere upstate New York. In this town, she has never heard anything about it. WE ARE IN A TOWN NOW. For the first time ever I am somewhere other than the city. I know it feels scary, you no longer have that accessibility you’re used to. On top of that, you are all alone, not a single soul you know. Just here, by yourself. But it’s okay, you’ll be okay. You will cry and cry. You’ll feel homesick, but it’s okay, that’s completely normal. It’s your first time away, your first time being alone. You left everything you’re used to, the environment that bred you all gone. It’s an adaptation period. A time for you to find yourself. Learn yourself, as you’re forced to be alone and spend so much time by yourself. It’s time that you learn about yourself. Focus on you, here begins the early stages of adulthood. Something that seemed so far, the words that you have been hearing since the fifth grade are now coming before your eyes CLASS OF 2025. Is now closer than ever. Whenever we thought of college it always seemed so far away, we also always thought we would end up out of state or something. No, you were too scared to go that far. Yet, I’m still super proud of you for even leaving to begin with. Throughout this time you will grow so much. You will also question literally everything you’ve ever wanted for your future. But, that’s okay we end up exploring so many new avenues! You will do some of the most outlandish things that you never saw yourself doing, but then again it’s you so are you really surprised? Absolutely not. Creating memories that make you feel as if you’re straight up in a movie scene. Feeling this feeling of bliss and contentment that you have never felt before. Yet, you will also come to see some of your saddest and most depressed days throughout your journey. Here I am to tell you it’s going to be okay you’ll be okay everyone will be okay. Go to that party, do that thing without thinking twice about it, and just live. Live life you’ll never be this young again.

Love always,
