Okay, first of all, why is Luke Pell, the God that he is, not this season’s bachelor? There is literally no excuse. But instead of giving us die-hard Bachelor fans someone else we could maybe get excited about, they gave us Nick Viall. I’m sorry, but if he’s gone through two seasons of the Bachelorette and one season of Bachelor in Paradise and still hasn’t found love, I really don’t think this show is the way he’s meant to find the woman of his dreams. But instead of the producers giving Bachelor Nation the Luke Pell that we all wanted, they gave us Nick Viall. Again…
Last season of the Bachelor, we were spoiled. Ben Higgins was a great bachelor, and Lauren Bushnell and Jojo Fletcher, the two ladies left standing at the end, were both great women and he truly couldn’t go wrong. But watching the intro of the women that were going to be on Nick’s season, instead of trying to pick out a top-five list of my favorites, I could only really narrow it down to two: Rachel and Vanessa. It became clear to me after only a few minutes into week one that this season was doomed from the start. And then there was that thing with Liz where they had hooked up with each other at Jade and Tanner’s wedding, but she didn’t want to exchange numbers, but then she shows up to be on the Bachelor? Are you kidding me?
Now it’s time to address the elephant in the room: Corrine. Why Oh Why Is She Still On The Show? She has a NANNY. She’s twenty-five, and she clearly cannot take care of herself. Yet, Nick still keeps her around. Yeah, I know, every season there’s a villain and Corrine is it this time around, but usually they get booted by week three or four, and they definitely don’t survive the dreaded two-on-one. But nope, Nick picks her over Taylor, and I just don’t get it. Clearly, Nick isn’t thinking with his head, if you know what I mean.
Overall, this season of the Bachelor has already been a massive disappointment, and there’s no end in sight. It’s obvious that at this point Nick is just hanging around this show because he wants to redeem himself from getting dumped twice on national television, and he’s really just using it to further his career (whatever that is). I’ll probably keep watching, but only because I’m trying to figure out who the next bachelorette will be. Fingers crossed for Rachel!
