Hey Collegiettes!
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner I thought I’d share some of my favorite restaurants in the area. Whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s or Galentine’s these are the perfect places to share a bite to eat with the one(s) you love on a college budget!
Dinner:
Thai Eagle Rox: 4610 York Blvd, Los Angeles
An Oxy Favorite! This place is perfect for a first date or to share appetizers and entrees with friends. It’s cheap and within walking distance.
Cacao: 1576 Colorado Blvd, Los Angeles
A little farther from campus, and a little more pricey, but totally worth it. There’s plenty of options for both the adventurous and non adventurous mexican food enthusiasts.
Yard House: 330 E Colorado Blvd Pasadena
If you have a car Old Town Pasadena is always a great place to go restaurant exploring. Yard House has a wide variety of typical American food and also offers a lot of vegetarian options!

Umami Burger: 49 E Colorado Blvd Pasadena
Also in Old Town, Umami is the best place (in my opinion of course) for a burger. If you want to go upscale from your usual In n Out run, this is definitely the place.

Melting Pot: 88 W Colorado Blvd, Pasadena
If you’re going out with the girls (or just friends!) for Valentines day, The Melting Pot is a lot of fun, and perfect for sharing meals with friends. Fondue is great for dinner or desert.

Dessert:
Millions of Milkshakes: 8910 Santa Monica Blvd West Hollywood
If you’re not available for dinner and want to spend time with your sweetheart, take a trip to WeHo to Millions of Milkshakes! It is seriously worth the drive. I’d recommend the s’more shake or the Miley.
21 Choices: 85 W Colorado Blvd, Pasadena
Another Oxy favorite. If you haven’t been there yet, 21 choices is basically Coldstone but with frozen yogurt. They change their flavors daily, so be sure to check their website.
Dots: 21 N Fair Oaks Ave, Pasadena
Dots is my favorite cupcake place around Oxy. They offer regular and mini sized cupcakes in many different varieties.

Bake your own!:
Most dorms are equipped with a kitchen, so have fun and make your own desserts! Here is an example of what I made for Valentine’s day in high school. All you need is cupcake mix (homemade or box), chocolate frosting, valentine’s day M and Ms or other themed chocolates, and a heart shaped box.
