Three words to describe you: Passionate. Smart. Loving.
Involved in any clubs or organizations on campus? I write for Her Campus and am our Community/Outreach/Philanthropy Director. This semester I began writing for a new student run magazine, Social Justice League, which has allowed me to write about social justice issues I am passionate about.Â
Any current internships? I just finished my second semester at the YWCA of the City of New York. I was working in their development department working on grants, editing and data entry.
What are your plans for next semester? I’ll be studying abroad in Florence, Italy. After I finish my semester, I’ll be spending a month backpacking through Europe with you! (Savannah Apple)
What’s on your study abroad bucket list? I have so many things on that list but near the top is visiting Venice and my best friend in London. I also really want to see as much great art as I can and definitely eat as many great meals as possible.
What are you most excited about studying abroad? I haven’t traveled much outside of the country and I’m just really excited to do as much traveling as I can and see so many beautiful places that I haven’t had the chance to witness yet.
What do you think you will miss most while you are gone? I’m really going to miss my family and friends. In terms of NYC, I’ll miss the energy and fries from Shake Shack.
What are you passionate about? I like to think that I’m passionate about a few things but one of my main focuses is women’s rights issues specifically reproductive rights. I see myself advocating for reproductive freedoms after I graduate in whatever form that takes. I’m also a firm believer in the power of writing and would consider it one of my own passions.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Well hopefully being able to pay rent. At 25, I’d like to be working on my Masters degree or finished with it. I’d like to see myself still writing and on a more professional level. I imagine I’ll be doing some sort of advocacy work.Â
