You’re very involved on campus as an R.H.A Desk Attendant, Orientation Leader, Spirit Ambassador, a Pace Pathfinder and have worked at the SDACA office. What is the most rewarding experience of these ventures at Pace?
“I think the most rewarding would be the Orientation Leader. You get a bunch of students that you can connect with; students who have been through what you’ve been through before or, it’s somebody that you can impact. Let’s say you have a student that isn’t on the right track, you get to sit down with them, talk to them and create this bond. Being an Orientation Leader is rewarding because you create friendships. During my freshman year, I was so lonely, I didn’t have any friends and now, during my sophomore year, I have so many friends.”
Â
What is one thing you would like to accomplish before graduating from Pace?
“I want to have a good job that pays well before I leave. Not an internship, but a paid job in the television industry where I’m hosting or reporting. Something that actually involves my field and also gain a bunch of clients from the company that I started.”
Â
Can you describe your new business venture?
“Mitson Joseph and I started a branding and consulting company based on social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and a website. We go by MIEN. MIEN is a person’s appearance, how they look, or a person’s personality. With MIEN, we get your personality, we get your appearance, and we try to mold your social media, changing it in a way where we show light to it. We change a person’s aesthetics on their Instagram and then we teach them about Instagram secrets and tools on when to post and when to hash tag. That may not seem important but it is, in order to build your following and build your engagement. We brand an individual through YouTube or Instagram, if they don’t want to do branding, we consult them and teach them certain tools and skills. It really works in other people’s favor; we’re teaching you things you can take into an internship and do for them.”
Â
Tell us a little about your website. What is the reason you started it?
“My website is basically my platform that showcases my skills. I wanted to have a resume but online, a visual form. My website showcases what I like to do which is: talking, hosting and attending events. It represents my life, my skills, and my passion for journalism; everything that entails who I am which is entertainment and media. It’s all about ambition and inspiring other people.”
Â
What do you like to do in your free time?
“I like to take walks in my free time, go for a run, eat; I treat myself to an expensive dinner once in awhile. I want to learn so I  like to watch Oprah and take notes, as well as Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic. When I read a book, I want to highlight; I like to create. My mind is constantly moving, I want to create new ways to gain new followers or new ways for me to go to an event and host. My mind is constantly working; there is no such thing as free time if I’m not sleeping.”
Â
What’s a fun fact about yourself that no one else would know?
“I have five sisters. I’m number six.”
Â
Finally, what is the last song you played on your Pandora playlist?
“It was a Gospel station. I like to listen to Gospel music to change my mood and my day.”
