Starbucks recently released another limited time frappuccino. The Crystal Ball Frappuccino made an appearance in participating Starbucks from March 22nd to the 26th. However, it was only available while supplies lasted so the frap disappeared pretty quickly! Luckily, I was able to get one.
Of all of the specialty frappuccinos I’ve tried, this one was by far the best. From its gorgeous exterior to its delicious interior, it wins the limited time frappunccino competition. The drink had such a great aesthetic, with its turquoise marble pattern, whipped cream, and neon colored crystal sprinkles. The sprinkles came in green, blue, and pink. Each color had a different meaning. Green meant luck, blue was adventure, and pink symbolized magic. The barista chooses the color so it is a complete surprise as to what your future holds! I got blue so I guess I should be expecting some adventure any day now!
Not only was the drink beautiful and meaningful, but it was also pretty tasty. It was creamier than other frappuccinos and had a peach base. I felt like I was eating real peaches and cream. The flavor was defined and sophisticated, unlike other specialty frappuccinos like the zombie frap, which was well designed, but too loose in taste. The Crystal Ball frap’s peach flavor was not too sweet. It was just enough to get a taste of warm summer fruit on a cold winter day. There is no telling whether the Crystal Ball frap will make a reappearance, but I for one hope it’s in my future!
