Hello lovely people! Over the past few years I have been working on living a more sustainable lifestyle and I just wanted to share a few tips with you and some things that I have learned. So, here goes:
- Use a reusable water bottle!
-
Yes, this is an obvious one, but it is surprising how many people don’t do this! Although I sometimes tend to forget mine, as long as I try to bring it with me everywhere, I find myself reducing my plastic footprint without even thinking about it!Â
- Use reusable dish sponges or dish towels!
-
You can find dish towels at tons of stores everywhere that you can use instead of paper towels. There are also companies that sell reusable dish sponges as well, an environmentally-friendly alternative to disposable sponges. The great thing about both of these items is that they can be washed and dried when they get too used up, and then they work like new!
- Go thrift shopping more often!
-
There are SO many amazing thrift stores with SO many good deals. Who doesn’t like cute clothes for good prices? Thrift shopping helps reduce the amount of clothes that end up in landfills and prevent too much “fast-fashion.”
- Use reusable bags when shopping!
-
So many companies give out free reusable bags now and you can find some for cheap at lots of stores. Plastic and paper bags are so bad for the environment, so reusing bags is helpful.
- Use reusable straws!
-
Keep one in your car, purse, backpack, or anywhere else you might need one. They are cheap and can be found pretty much anywhere!
- Use plastic-free detergent pods!
-
Lots of those easy detergent pods are full of plastic which is no good, so using brands like Dropps is super helpful in reducing plastic waste!
- Eat your leftovers or split meals with people!
-
Don’t just let your food go to waste! It will save you money and it will save the earth and the animals in it from being used too much to energize you.
That’s just a few tips that have really helped me throughout my journey to live a more sustainable lifestyle. I hope they help you too!
