Five Stages of Finals Grief As Told By Taylor Swift

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pepperdine chapter.
Dear Finals…

Finals week is here, and just as hard as the work we have to do is working through our emotions to get to the point where we actually, you know, do work.

Stage 1: Denial.

“I don’t need to start yet. I have plenty of time. Remember that time I wrote my entire paper in one night and got an A? I can totally do that again. Who cares that it was in 5th grade? I’ve got this.”

Stage 2: Anger
“Don’t professors understand that we have lives? Your class isn’t the only class I have to worry about, it’s so unfair of you to assign us a research paper and an exam.”

Stage 3: Bargaining.
“If I start my essay tomorrow, then I’ll let myself go to Chick fil a for dinner. Maybe if I ask my prof she’ll let me write just a little under the page requirement and not dock me.”

Stage 4: Depression.
“I’m just going to fail. I know I’m just going to fail. There’s no point in trying when I’m going to fail.”

Stage 5: Acceptance
