The Perfect Taylor Swift Lyric For Your Instagram Caption

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pepperdine chapter.

With the number of pictures we take, it’s easy to find an Instagrammable one. What can be hard is finding the right caption. Thankfully, Taylor Swift’s lyrical genius is here to save the day. With hundreds of songs and thousands of perfect lines, we’re here to tell you exactly which ones match with your current life.

Happy:

“Don’t you dream impossible things?” – When you want everyone to know your life is perfect.

“Spinning like a girl in a brand new dress” – If you’re obsessed with twirling pictures (like I am).

“And I said welcome to [insert city here], it’s been waiting for you” – When you finally make it to your destination for spring break.

“I’m feelin’ 22” – Please only use this if you look like you’re having a great time and someone in your photo is actually 22.

“This life is sweeter than fiction” – You wish you had my life.

Proud:

“One day, we will be remembered” – This is the humble brag of Instagram captions. It’s for when you want to say ‘I am amazing,’ but if you caption your Insta with that, you’ll lose followers, so you caption it with a lyric instead.

“For a moment a band of thieves in ripped up jeans got to rule the world” – Honestly, anything from Long Live is the best for humble bragging. Hey, you earned it.

“Baby I could build a castle out of all the bricks they threw at me” – Because they tried to knock you down and you kept going.

Angry:

“Cuz baby now we’ve got bad blood” (or pretty much any Bad Blood lyric) – Perfect for exes, be they ex-friends, ex-boyfriends, or your long list of ex-lovers. Her Campus does not take responsibility for any unnecessary drama this may cause.

“Shake it off” – The college version of ‘I am rubber and you are glue…’

Nostalgic:

“Oh darlin’ don’t you ever grow up” – For that TBT you post in the middle of your senior year crisis. Usually paired with #imnotreadytograduate.

“Say you’ll remember me, standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset” – Those formal pics where you look perfect alone but you don’t want to sound too self-centered.

“Someday you won’t remember this pain you thought would last forever and ever” – For the TBT to when you were going through a rough time.

Growing:

“We’re too busy dancing to get knocked off our feet” – When you want to give the world a casual “beep-you,” while also showing everyone how much fun you have without them.

“I think I am finally clean”- Another great subtle subtweet (subinsta?). You’re better off without them, girl.

“People throw rocks at things that shine” – And you’re going to go on shining anyway.

Sassy:

“Darling I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream” – Bonus points if you really are dressed like a daydream.

“We never go out of style” – When your outfit’s on point.

Love:

Literally, there’s a billion of these. Just put your iPod on shuffle and you’ll find one within the first two songs.

“That’s how it works, that’s how you get the girl” – This is how I’m going to caption my engagement photo someday.  Â
