Pressed Juicery Cleanse Series: Cleanse 1

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pepperdine chapter.

I have officially started my cleanse series (woohoo!!!). I did Pressed Juicery’s Cleanse 1. Each drink is labeled in the order you are supposed to drink them every 2 hours.

It is comprised of six drinks and two waters. I paid $30 for the six drinks and $5 for the two waters thanks to the Pressed Juicery membership (which I highly recommend because it is basically free and you can cancel whenever and restart whenever…check their website for more info).

I started my day at 9 a.m. with the Vanilla Almond drink. It is 280 calories and is comprised of almonds, dates, vanilla, and sea salt. I love the taste of this one and it is definitely one of the more filling drinks. It has lots of protein to help keep you less hungry throughout the day.

At 11 a.m. after chapel I had Greens 2. This one is 140 calories and is made of apple, cucumber, celery, lemon, spinach, kale, and parsley. This one doesn’t taste as good as the previous, but it is not awful and definitely bearable. This juice is a great energy boost and has lots of vitamins.

At 12 p.m. I bought a trenta unsweetened green tea from Starbucks. It is 0 calorie and has a whole lot of caffeine which is necessary for me to keep awake in class especially on a low energy day like this.

At 1 p.m. during class is when the reality really started to hit me that I was only having drinks today. I had Roots 2 which is 180 calories. It contains carrot, apple, spinach, lemon, parsley, ginger, and kale. This juice is packed with nutrients.

At 3 p.m. after my class was over I had Citrus 2. This was probably my favorite juice of the day. It is 240 calories and contains apple, pineapple, lemon, and mint. It has a ton of antioxidants and is yummy refreshing juice to have as your halfwayish mark. I also had some almonds from Starbucks as a pick me up.

At 5 p.m. while doing laundry I had Greens 3. It is 140 calories and comprised of the same ingredients as Greens 2, but with some ginger added to it for a little kick. Ginger is not my favorite taste, but it is not overbearing in this drink.

And finally, at 7 p.m. I had the Chocolate Almond drink. It is 420 calories and it is packed with protein. It is made of almonds, dates, cacao, and sea salt. I love the taste of this one and it’s a nice fill up before bed.

Throughout the day I drank the Chlorophyll water which is helpful for hydration. About an hour before bed I had the aloe water which helps your body rehydrate after a long day of juicing. In total I had 72 fluid ounces of water.

Today was good. I felt refreshed after this cleanse. For the most part I was able to relax, but I was definitely more tired than normal. All in all I highly recommend Cleanse 1, especially if you’re a first-timer.

Hello! My name is Emma. I am a student at Pepperdine University and I am studying Philosophy with the hopes of obtaining my MFT license after I graduate in 2021. I was born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Waco, Texas. That being said, I am avid supporter of Baylor sports and TexMex! I believe mental health is the most important thing to maintain in college. Some ways that I maintain mine include (but are not limited to) boxing, Disney, and beach days with my friends out here in Malibu!

This is my senior year of college and I'm a Public Relations major with a Creative Writing outside concentration. I was born and raised in So-Cal and love it so much I couldn't go too far. As much as South California is my home, I adore traveling and learning about other cultures. A Disney fan to the core you can find me watching any of their movies, or breaking my bank account at Disneyland, and if not I'll probably be reading, writing, or enjoying the Malibu climate.
