I wore heels for the 12 hours the other day. I’m extremely flat-footed. They were TOMS wedged booties. *Disclosure: The longest I’ve worn heels before this was 2 hours*. Here were the different stages I went through while wearing my booties:

Stage 1: I look GREAT!

The first look in the mirror

Stage 2: This isn’t so bad!

Walking around your apartment

Stage 3: If I take 2 Ibuprofen, then I won’t feel a thing!

Right before you leave your place for the day

Stage 4: Ok, a little pain but I still look good!

I can survive this! I’m walking properly (right?)

Stage 5: I need to distract myself from this!

The pulsing in the heels of my feet are normal right?

Stage 6: How long until I can sit down?!

Is that my destination ahead?

Stage 7: FINALLY! A chair!

This chair has never felt so good.

Stage 8: Standing up again

You mean I have to walk in these…again?

Stage 9: No quitting

I’m in too deep now to switch shoes!

Stage 10: Past the point of pain

I feel like a girl who has her life together! Carrie Bradshaw who?

Stage 11: Lying to yourself

I can’t walk anymore! I lied! When can I get out of these?

Stage 12: Home

I can’t feel my feet anymore but that wasn’t so bad!

For the girl who feels better wearing tennis shoes, heels can be tricky and painful. But they have a way of making you feel great and they’re an awesome workout for your legs!
