Christmas is such a fun time of year; all of the holiday drinks come back into season, PPG Ice Skating opens back up, and ABC Family’s (now Freeform) 25 days ‘til Christmas movie countdown begins! I love to bring the holiday cheer into my dorm room, because we only have 2 weeks to celebrate with college friends before we go home for winter break. Here are few cheap things you can get to spruce up your living space for the Holidays!

Christmas Lights

I have an obsession with Christmas lights and use them year round, since I prefer warm lighting over harsh. My mom gave me extra lights that we usually use for our Christmas tree. I just taped mine up near our kitchen, but you can put them anywhere!

Snowflake Ornaments

Once again, props to my mom for giving me these cute snowflake ornaments! I didn’t want to spend money on a little tree for our dorm, so instead I taped them around our living and dining room. Super cheap to do and very festive.

Wreaths

You can make them out of anything, but this one made out of tinsel. It’s great to see before you even get inside your dorm, and it’s festive!

Gingerbread Houses

The cool thing about gingerbread houses is that the activity itself is great for roommate bonding! It’s a perfect way to relieve a little finals prep stress, and you can be super creative. Make one and boom – instant holiday cheer!

Holidays can be a stressful time, but hopefully these 4 staple holiday decorations can make things happier and bearable while studying for those final exams. Happy holidays everyone!

Attending the University of Pittsburgh and just choosing to be happy every single day! :)
Hi! I'm Jessie and I am currently dual majoring in communication and non-fiction writing at The University of Pittsburgh. I am also the Senior Editor for Pitt's Her Campus! I emulate everything Carrie Bradshaw and can watch Breakfast At Tiffany's everyday for the rest of my life. You can usually find me blasting country music a little too loud while wearing a floppy hat.
