When Taylor Swift announced her Eras Tour, fans were ecstatic for the chance to see their favorite singer again. To add onto that excitement, Taylor is bringing a slew of incredible artists along with her. With nine amazing artists spread over 44 shows, there’s almost a guarantee that you don’t know much about all the openers. So, here’s a short intro to all of Taylor’s openers, as well as some of my favorite songs from each of them.

paramore

This iconic rock band from Nashville, Tennessee is arguably the most recognizable opener that Taylor Swift has added to her tour. The group, which are currently on their own tour, will be joining Swift for her March 17 and 18th shows in Glendale, Arizona. And if by some twist of fate, you haven’t heard of Paramore (or simply haven’t listened to them much), I highly recommend their newest single, “This is Why.” Some of my older faves from their catalog include “Ain’t It Fun,” “Still Into You” and “All I Wanted.”

beabadoobee

This young pop star, who has over 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify, is a dominating force in the bedroom pop genre. Bea is joining Taylor Swift for a large portion of her early shows, spanning from March 24 to April 29. Her latest release, Beatopia, debuted earlier this year. My favorite songs by beabadoobee (who I admit I haven’t listened to extensively) include “Coffee,” “fall in love with a girl” and “He Gets Me So High.”

Phoebe bridgers

One of my favorite artists in the entire world, the reigning indie/alternative queen is joining Taylor Swift for the middle leg of her tour for shows from May 5th to May 28th (which includes the Philadelphia shows!). I cannot recommend Phoebe Bridgers enough. Both of her albums, Punisher and Stranger in the Alps, are worth listening to from beginning to end (and then listening to again and again). However, if you’re looking for a little intro to Phoebe, I highly recommend “Garden Song,” “Scott Street,” “Motion Sickness” and “Chinese Satellite.” And as a bonus–- there’s always “Nothing New” by Taylor Swift ft. Phoebe Bridgers.

girl in red

I will be the first to admit that I am merely a casual girl in red listener, but I can also guarantee that she is more than worth the listen. Marie Ringheim’s songs, which often center around queer love and/or mental health, feature beautiful beats and lyrics that you’ll quickly come to cherish. Some of her best songs include the widely popular “we fell in love in october,” “October Passed Me By,” “girls” and “Serotonin.” She will be opening for Taylor at a multitude of her shows (including both Pittsburgh shows), spanning from June 2nd to June 24th.

muna

One of my personal favorite bands, this girl group is most known for their hit song “Silk Chiffon” which features Phoebe Bridgers. Composed of lead singer Katie Gavin, guitarist/producer Naomi McPherson and guitarist Josette Maskin, this group will be opening for Taylor at her June 4th Chicago show, and for a short run from June 30 to July 15. MUNA is incredible, fun and has a wonderfully unique sound. My personal favorite MUNA tracks include “Kind of Girl,” “Anything But Me” and their recently released live cover of “August.”

haim

The three Haim sisters have quickly become Taylor Swift’s personal wingwomen after being featured on Evermore’s track “no body, no crime.” In turn, Taylor is featured on one of their own songs, “Gasoline.” Some of their other incredible songs include “Leaning On You” and “Saturdays.” HAIM will be joining Taylor for some of her West Coast shows, from July 22nd to August 9th.

gayle

GAYLE is an artist I had never listened to prior to Taylor’s tour announcement, but after taking a quick deep dive (and seeing some of her TikToks) I’ve quickly become a fan. With a beautiful alt sound and incredible lyrics, GAYLE promises to be a delightful opener. Some of her most popular songs, and some of my more recent discoveries, include “abcdefu,” “e-z” and “ALEX.” GAYLE will be opening for Taylor at various shows in March, April and May. GAYLE will also make an appearance at some of the final stops on tour on August 5th and August 9th.

gracie abrams

Gracie Abrams, with her soft voice and gentle music, truly cannot be recommended enough. Abrams will be opening a wide variety of Taylor’s shows, including the majority of shows throughout April, about half of the shows in May and the vast majority of shows throughout June and July (which includes the first Pittsburgh show). Some of Gracie’s best songs include, “Rockland,” “Augusta,” “Under / Over” and “Stay.”

owenn

The smallest artist that is opening for Taylor during her tour, OWENN blends bluesy rock, R&B and pop within his music. He currently only has 4 released songs: “Rest of My Life,” “Baby Girl,” “Baby Girl (Pierre Pyer Remix)” and “Show Me.” OWENN will be joining Taylor for a three show run from May 28th to June 3rd, and for a few other scattered shows throughout June and August (including the second Pittsburgh show).

Happy tour and happy listening!
