When doing makeup it can be challenging to find the right products, especially nowadays when there seems to be hundreds of products to choose from. Unfortunately, with the pandemic, it’s increasingly difficult to go to the store and get expert recommendations. Don’t worry though, HC Pitt has got you covered with our to die for makeup products.
- The Ordinary Coverage Foundation
-
The brand that is known for skincare has recently released a foundation. The Ordinary Coverage Foundation comes in 21 shades and for only $6.90 at Ulta, it’s hard to beat!
“It sits really well on the skin all day long but comes off easy with makeup remover! It’s very affordable too.” -Sabrina
- bareMinerals Matte Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15
-
For those of you looking for a higher-end, powder foundation, bareMinerals Matte Foundation is for you. It’s known for its great coverage and even has SPF to protect your skin from harmful rays. It’s available for $32 at Ulta.
“I really like using bare minerals matte foundation and primer for lightweight, non-liquid coverage!” -Erin
- IT Cosmetics Bye-Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer
-
As for concealers, our very own president here at HC Pitt recommends IT Cosmetics Bye-Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer. It’s a full coverage concealer and is said to last for 24 hours! It is a bit more expensive coming in at $27 from Ulta, but IT Cosmetics has amazing products and if your budget allows, it’s definitely worth it!
“I also like to use IT cosmetics Bye-Bye Under Eye concealer for my dark circles and blemishes.” -Erin
- Morphe brushes
-
Morphe brushes are the best and I swear by them. They are so soft and amazing at blending, and don’t break the bank either! It’s super easy to get a set and they will last you forever. This brand also sells individual brushes, so you can just as easily individually pick and choose too!
“Morphe brushes!!! They are so reasonably priced and the quality is amazing! I got a big set 3 years ago and to this day it is all I use. 11/10 recommend.” -Emily
- Morphe Highlight & Contour Beauty Sponge
-
For an applicator, I’m a big fan of the Morphe Highlight & Contour Beauty sponge. It’s super affordable for $8 at Ulta and is a more budget-friendly option compared to the beautyblender. I think it works just as well too, I use it to apply foundation and concealer, but you can use it for its intended highlighting and contour too!
- Maybelline Great Lash Mascara
-
And what look is complete without mascara? Our first recommendation is Maybelline’s Great Lash! It is super affordable and is $4.79 at Target. It even comes in a variety of shades from a natural brown to a royal blue!
“Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara has been my bff since 2018! Since starting college, I’ve phased out of wearing makeup consistently but this is the one product that I will always put on if I’m going out or just joining zoom meetings.” -Eva
- Maybelline Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length Mascara
-
Another Maybelline favorite is the Lash Stiletto Mascara. It’s slightly more expensive than the Great Lash and is specially designed to add length. It has such cute packaging as well, for only $7.99 at Walmart!
“Maybelline’s Lash Stiletto mascara is my favorite mascara! I’ve tried other high-end, expensive mascaras and I still end up going back to lash stiletto.” -Jaden
- L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara
-
A great drug store option is L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara. It also comes in various colors and is available in a waterproof option as well. It’s great for adding volume and length and is just $8.49 at Target.
“L’Oréal Telescopic is the best mascara I’ve ever used!! People always ask if I got my lashes done.” -Zoe
- Urban Decay Perversion Volumizing Mascara
-
As for a more high-end option, I’m a huge fan of the Urban Decay Perversion Volumizing Mascara. I swear it makes my lashes 10x longer and I’m in love with it. It is $25 at Ulta, so I try to grab it on sale but it’s a great product.
- NYX Epic Ink Liner
-
And what look isn’t complete without eyeliner? Most of mine honestly, because I have yet to perfect the skill, but our makeup connoisseur, Sabrina, recommends the NYX Epic Ink Liner. It’s only $9 at Ulta and comes in black and brown.
“I love the NYX Epic Ink Liner! It’s the closest product I’ve found to the KVD Tattoo Liner and it’s half the price! The NYX liner is a richer black color and stays on just as well, at least for me.” -Sabrina
