Waking up for early classes is an eternal college struggle. We all have to go to class, so why not give yourself a leg up over your classmates? Just taking a few minutes to put yourself together in the morning can change the tone of your whole day. With just a few products and quick tips, we can all #Be-Yoncé in even the earliest of classes.
1. Peach Tone Corrector
Under eye circles are the true reveal of an all-nighter. A peach tone corrector prior to your concealer is the key to getting rid of those dark circles. The peach tone will cancel the blue and gray tones under the eye. Dab the corrector just over the circles under your eye with your ring finger (the ring finger applies the least amount of pressure to this delicate area.) Bobbi Brown makes an amazing corrector.
2. Triangle Concealer Trick
On top of the corrector generously apply a concealer 1-2 shades lighter than your actual skin tone in a triangle shape and you will brighten the eye area and the face overall. Applying the concealer in this triangle shape creates an optical illusion that gives you an eyelift!
3. Defined Brows
Eyebrows frame the eyes and give context to the whole face. The rule of thumb is to choose a shade either two shades lighter or two shades darker than your hair color. Anastasia makes a great line completely dedicated to brows. From the lower intensity Brow Wiz pencil to the higher intensity Brow Dip and lots of products in between, the effect all these products give is natural but significant. Personally, I use the Brow Wiz in short hair-like strokes; it takes me two minutes and makes a world of a difference. At the very least, try a tinted brow gel to give your brows added color and to hold them in place. In the #selfie shown below, my friend Aikta and I are both sporting the Brow Wiz pencil and we are #cheesinhard because we both have #BrowsonFleek.
4. Eyelash Curlers
As one of my favorite makeup artists Charlotte Tilbury says, “Eyelash curlers are a push up bra for the eyelashes.” Once you get the hang of how to properly use them, eyelash curlers will become your best friend. They quickly open up the eye and give a much more awake and doll-eyed look. Clamp down as close to the base of your lashes as possible and hold for 10 seconds. Revlon makes a great drugstore option. For a higher-end product, try the cult favorite by Shu Uemera.Â
5. Bold Lip
Applying a stronger lip color is the ultimate pick-me-up in this cold winter weather. If you are feeling tired, a bright lip balm can be just the thing to boost your mood and your look! The Revlon Lip Butters are inexpensive, moisturizing, and come in a wide range of shades. The Bite High Pigment Pencils are also a new favorite of mine! They have a large range of shades—the berry tones are especially fabulous—and they are really easy to throw on in a hurry. This one pictured is in the shade Meritage.
