1. Swim in the Frick Fine Arts Fountain
On a warm night—or maybe just a somewhat warm, kind of rainy, typical Pittsburgh spring day—take a dip in the South Oakland’s kiddie pool. Just don’t get caught.
2. Go to the top of the Cathedral of Learning
I don’t know what the highest floor is, but I’m planning on finding out.
3. O Fries
Oakland drunk food at its finest!
4. Get Your Horns
If you had a summer birthday or maybe didn’t quite make it to Peters on your 21st, you gotta get your horns. It’ll be fun to pretend it’s your 21st birthday again!
5. Do Something Rebellious
Get a piercing or tattoo that wouldn’t fly in the real world and that your parents would never approve of. As long as you end up graduating, they’ll get over it.
6. Explore Schenley Park
There are endless activities for everyone in Schenley Park—from bike trails to the golf course to Phipps Conservatory. The beginning of Spring is the perfect time to explore the acres of green space that’s right in our backyard.
7. Go Up The Duquesne Incline
Make sure to be as predictable as possible and take too many pictures.
8. Karaoke at Hems
Sing your heart out at Hems on a Wednesday night and indulge in a couple of shot pitchers while you’re at it.
9. Nationality Rooms
The Nationality Rooms in the Cathedral are actually really legit. Take advantage of the 29 unique classrooms designed to represent the cultures of the many ethnic groups that settled and helped to build Allegheny County.
10. Grilled Cheese at The Yard
Grilled cheese sandwiches from The Yard are pure works of art. It may take a while to decide between all of the choices.
11. Strip District on a Saturday Morning
On Saturday mornings, all of the street vendors come out to set up street stalls. What’s more, you can get delicious brunch at DeLucas or shop around for super-cheap Steelers, Pens and Pirates gear. Giving up a morning to sleep in is definitely worth a Saturday in the Strip.
12. Visit Your Freshman Dorm
Find a freshman to sign you in and go back to your freshman dorm room! Reminisce over the good (or embarrassingly bad) memories.
13. Steal Food From Market
As poor college students, we could all use some free bagels and fruit. Take Market for all it’s worth one more time.
14. Rivers Casino
Take full advantage of being 21 and try your luck at gambling. Just don’t lose too much of your parent’s money.
15. Get A Job
Or not…maybe stay in college for another year? Yeah, I think I like that option better.
