Top Ten Must-Follow Twitter Accounts for Pitt Students

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pitt chapter.

Overwhelmed by everything Pitt has to offer? That would make two of us. With so much going on, I constantly feel like I am out of the loop on so many happenings on campus. So, if you’re a Twitter user like myself, I took the liberty of comprising a list of the top ten must-follow twitter accounts for all you Pitt students. If you follow these ten accounts, you’ll never have to worry about not being up-to-date on the score of the game or what fellow students are saying and doing around campus. Don’t worry–you can thank me later. But I’m not responsible for any increases in procrastination.

10. @PittCareers

Desperately need money? Want a job? Then Pitt Career Services is a must-follow for you. Stay updated on job and internship opportunities as well as important dates for events, such as the career fairs on campus.

9. @ThePantherPitt

Can’t make it to the game? Keep up with all things football by following The Panther Pitt. You’ll feel as if you’re watching the game right from the student section and singing along to “Sweet Caroline.” And who doesn’t love seeing pictures of the victory lights (hopefully) every weekend?

8. @OaklandZoo

If you cannot wait for basketball season like myself, definitely follow Oakland Zoo for all things basketball. Their bio reads, “The official Twitter of the best student section in the country.” They got that right.

7.  @PittTweet

This is the most reliable place to read news about all things pertaining to Pitt. It’s run by Pitt’s own news and magazines department.

6. @overheardatpitt

Have you ever overheard a conversation while walking around campus that made you stop in your tracks? You’re not the only one. Scroll through PittOverheard’s Twitter page and you’ll be greeted by tweets upon tweets of similar conversations.

5. @wedopittevents

There is nothing worse than not having anything to do, especially when you’ve already watched every movie on Netflix… twice. Here is the ultimate solution to your boredom: simply follow Pitt Program Council for endless tweets on the different events happening around campus.

4. @PittProblems

If you love to complain as much as I do, this twitter is made especially for you. Any problem that you could ever imagine or have experienced has most likely already been noted by Pitt Problems. It’s also a relief to know that you are not the only one complaining about basically everything, from the score of the last football game to Pitt’s more than unreliable Wi-Fi.

3. @PittMakeouts

This is everyone’s guilty pleasure, though many refuse to admit it. Usually the morning after a night out, your Twitter feed will be filled with pictures of hookups, from sloppy ones to ones that will make you cringe. Some also use this as a way to embarrass their friends. It’s all fun and games until you see yourself on there…

2. @ThingsForPitt

This is a twitter dedicated to everything and anything Pitt students do that makes a Pitt student… well, a Pitt student. Besides a good laugh, following ThingsPittStdntsLike will make you feel that much prouder to be a student at Pitt. On that note, Hail to Pitt!

1. @HerCampusPitt

Obviously a must-follow for anyone and everyone to be updated on the useful articles that Her Campus Pitt posts. The real question is why aren’t you following us already?

Hi! I'm Jessie and I am currently dual majoring in communication and non-fiction writing at The University of Pittsburgh. I am also the Senior Editor for Pitt's Her Campus! I emulate everything Carrie Bradshaw and can watch Breakfast At Tiffany's everyday for the rest of my life. You can usually find me blasting country music a little too loud while wearing a floppy hat.
