Summer is flying by my fellow collegiettes, and that means Father’s Day is coming up (June 15th in case you still don’t know. I’m not judging). Dads are the best—they are always there for you—protecting you, guiding you, and giving you an extra $20 just because. However, I know they are the worst to shop for. You never know what to get them or what they will actually like and use. To help you out with your shopping, here is a list of Father’s Day gifts that I think dads will love, and that won’t break the bank!
For the Active Dad: Fitbit
Fitbits are all the rage right now. They are little devices that can track how many miles you have walked, steps you have taken, calories you have burned, and how many hours you sleep everyday. The information can then be uploaded onto your phone or computer to help you track all your progress and make notes. This gift is perfect for a dad who loves to get his fitness on or wants to start! It is sold as a wristband or a clip-on tracker; each range at different prices (between $50 -$100) and can do different things depending on what you are looking for. They are sold at Best Buy, Amazon or their own website.
For the Simple and Classy Dad: Art of Shaving Set
This is a great way to give your dad a little treat. We spend tons of money on make-up, lotions, body washes and sprays to make ourselves feel good. This is a man’s equivalent. The Art of Shaving promises a luxury shave. You can buy a kit or buy the items separately if you wanted to make your own gift basket. The best part is that it is even sold at Sephora so it is a perfect shave for dad, and gets Beauty Insider points for us (to all my fellow make-up junkies). If you wanted to purchase a kit, they range from $55 to $110 depending on what size the products are.
For the Dad Who Needs a Break: Gift Certificates
Dads work hard to keep us happy and put food on the table; and sometimes, they need a break. A gift certificate for a massage could be just what he needs to reenergize. If that doesn’t seem like his forte, maybe buy a certificate to a nice restaurant so he can relax with mom or enjoy some fine dining and quality time with the whole family. Nothing like a juicy steak and a glass of wine to put dad in the perfect mood! The price range here will probably be around $50 or more.
For the Sports Fan Dad: Team Apparel
Dads love wearing their favorite sports teams’ gear. It’s always a winner in my dad’s book, whether it is for a major league team or for our very own Pitt Panthers! You can buy him a jersey, a tee or cap. Depending on what you are looking to get, it won’t be too expensive (ranging from $15 to $50).
For the Dad Who Appreciates the Finer Things in Life: Cool Beer and Wine Gadgets
There is nothing like grabbing a cold beer to unwind or a glass of wine to pair with dinner, according to pops. Dads love weird, fancy gadgets that promise to make their lives easier, so get dad a gadget he can use in the home bar. Amazon sells a doo-hickey called a Corksicle, which will keep a beer cold on hot summer days. Brookstone sells wine aerators (that are on sale on their site right now!) which help release a wine’s full flavor. They also sell neat bottle openers. There are tons of toys I’m sure any dad will love and depending on what you are looking to buy, these items can retail around $20 to $50.
