As someone who can’t live without having any product on their lips, clear gloss is the perfect fix—and clear gloss goes with any outfit! I have gone through hundreds of different glosses, but my top three will have you scraping the tube for more.
Nicka K Fruity Lip Gloss
Nicka K’s fruity gloss is my all-time favorite. For only $2.99, you get 0.15 fluid ounces. of gloss. Although the applicator is thin and basic, the gloss goes on smooth and light—but don’t think this means that it doesn’t last! This gloss lasts me up to two hours after application—and that’s with drinking beverages. The shine that this gloss has is noticeable, but not overwhelming, and the hydration you get from this is unmatched. The gloss is made with hydraulic acid, leaving your lips soft and hydrated for hours after application.
Key notes: price, smooth, hydration
NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip
NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip is a close second to Nicka K, coming in at $9 for 0.16 fluid ounces. The applicator for this gloss is absolutely stunning—thick and round, covering your entire lip in one swipe. When I say this gloss is thick, I mean this gloss is THICK. Because of this, there is a bit of stickiness, but for the glass-like shine it gives, it’s totally worth it. While drinking beverages, this gloss lasts me around five hours, leaving my lips moderately hydrated after it wears away.
Key points: applicator, long lasting, shine
NYX Butter Gloss
Back at it again with another NYX product, their Butter Gloss takes third place. $6 for 0.27 fluid ounces, and although the applicator is small and thin, you get a similar quality of gloss compared to NYX Fat Oil—but for $3 less and 0.11 fl. oz. more. The Butter Gloss is thick, which helps with the wear time—about three to four hours with drinking beverages. I would say this gloss lives up to its name, allowing you to wear it thick without it being noticeably sticky. The shine is similar to the Fat Oil, leaving you with a glass-like appearance, and like the Fat Oil again, leaves you moderately hydrated.
Key points: quantity, thickness, shine
Overall, any of these three lip glosses are bound to have you looking good—but if you are searching for certain aspects, make sure to check out the key points of each gloss below!
