It can feel daunting going into college as a freshman. You have to focus on your incoming student checklist, your first-semester schedule, and your dorm situation. On top of this, figuring out what to buy for your dorm can be stressful. Don’t worry; I’m here to help!
Here is a list of things I’m happy I bought for my dorm:
This wedge pillow is super comfortable and feels similar to a couch. It is perfect for studying, relaxing on your bed, and having crazy night conversations with your roommate/friends.
If you’re eating out on campus every day, you’re bound to stain your clothes. This stain remover is one of the best I have used. It has gotten every stain out of my clothes so far; it is also small, which makes it easy to store.
These bins are a good size for storing cleaning supplies and more. You can fit them on top of your closet or under your bed. They help me keep my room more organized.
This nightstand is a great size for a dorm. It is big enough to hold a clock and lamp on top and fit your everyday necessities inside. While it is narrow, it is long and can fit more than it looks like it can.
This clock is very easy to use. My favorite thing about it is you can dim the brightness of the time. It also has a USB charging port.
When it gets dark out and you don’t want the big light on anymore, this lamp gives you enough light to still do things like cleaning or homework. It is also great for relaxing late at night. The warm yellow color makes your dorm feel even more comfortable. This lamp is also the perfect size for a nightstand.
I can confidently say that this is the warmest blanket I have ever owned. If your college town has harsh and cold winters, this blanket is for you: it comes in many colors and patterns, so you can pick what matches your aesthetic the most.
I hope this list has helped you figure out what to buy for your freshman dorm. My best advice is to remember that this is a completely new space that you will be living in for your entire first year. You want it to feel comfy and safe. My advice is to get new bedding in a color you love and hang up pictures of loved ones. To everyone reading, I wish you the best of luck!
