2. The McDonald’s Big Mac was also first introduced in Pittsburgh, and there’s an even a Big Mac museum in North Huntingdon.
3. Pittsburgh has 446 bridges, the most out of any other country or city in the entire world!
4. The world’s first museum of art, the Carnegie Museum of Art, was founded in in our city in 1895.
5. Pittsburgh holds the world’s largest “Furry” convention, so keep an eye out for anyone who asks for cat food at restaurants in July!
6. Pittsburgh Pirates games feature Pierogi Races…yes, this is a real thing.
7. The Primanti Bro’s restaurant, originated in our city, is the only restaurant that serves coleslaw, French fries, and eggs on one sandwich- best tradition ever!
8. Our beloved Kennywood Park has a racing roller coaster, which is also a landmark.
9. The Great Allegheny Passage is a popular off-road bike trail that connects Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C., and is about 355 miles long!
10. Pittsburghese is a real language- at least to us! Here’s some examples: Pixburgh (Pittsburgh), warsh (wash), yinz (y’all), clicker (remote control), Stillers (Steelers), and how’s come (why?).
