On January 17th, 2015, the first annual Strip District Music Festival was held in Pittsburgh’s Strip District.

Featuring over 70 bands, at over 11 venues, from 12pm – 2 am, the Strip District Music Fest aimed to bring people of all ages together to enjoy a day of local music. There was no cover charge for the festival; instead it was paid for through attendees’ donations online to individual bands, and through sponsorships.
Over 8,000 people attended throughout the day, making it a much bigger turnout than originally expected. Not only did the festival draw in customers to local businesses, but it gave the chance for many local bands to gain exposure they may not have gotten otherwise. So to anybody who says that the scene is dead – think again.

Due to its huge success, the Strip District Music Fest is expected to make an even bigger comeback in 2016! We can’t wait!
