Summer is coming up! What plans do you have?
Well I’ll be working at the Hershey Chocolate company in Portland this summer, but try to get a few books read that I’ve been meaning to get to during the year. I’m also excited to hang out with my roommates and take a few trips up to Canada.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Portland?
A nice afternoon on Mississippi Ave is perfect for me. Starting off with ice cream from Ruby Jewell’s, grab some comic books from Bridge City Comics and read them over some truffle fries from Little Big Burger. Then I like to go meet friends at The Cup and Saucer. It’s just an all around awesome street, so much to do!
You’re trapped on a deserted island full of zombies, which three things and three fictional people do you bring?
I would bring a tomahawk because it doesn’t require ammo, a snuggie which can be very useful, and a large ration of BBQ Pirate’s Booty. As for people, I’d bring Voldemort because, well just because, then Wolverine because he’ll always have my back, and Mr. Myagi from the Karate Kid. Let’s face it: a dark wizard, a mutant, and a kung fu master would be unstoppable.
What’s best about being in the business school at UP?
The travel. Through the business school and the E-Scholars program I was able to go to Vietnam for Spring Break which was an unforgettable experience. We’ve also been to Colorado and New York to learn more about business and apply what we’ve learned in class in the real world. I don’t know many other schools who have opportunities like that.
Describe your perfect date.
The perfect date would be back home in Seattle starting on a Sunday morning. I would pick her up with flowers and chocolate (can’t beat tradition) and we would head into downtown, listening to a playlist made especially for that day. We’d start by getting tacos at Agua Verde, and then proceed to go kayaking in Lake Union and dock our kayaks and get lost in the UW Arboretum. When our arms are too tired, we’d head back to the boat center then walk hand in hand up to Gasworks Park, to enjoy a nice picnic and fly kites over the most spectacular view of Seattle. That would only be the start of the day, but to hear the rest you’d need an entire article!
Describe yourself in a song lyric?
“We laugh and cry but don’t ask why, on my heartbeat radio” from Heartbeat Radio by Sondre Lerche.
