Name: Eilidh Mote
Major: Nursing
Year:Â Freshman
Hometown: Corvallis, OR/ Seattle, WA
Three words to describe yourself: Kind, considerate, and funny
What made you choose UP?: The nursing program, the location, and the friendly atmosphere.
Favorite memory at UP (so far): Going dancing with friends (specifically swing and Irish Ceili dancing).
Favorite kind of food: Pad Thai!
What made you choose nursing? I like helping people and taking care of others, and nursing is very practical; I won’t have to worry about unemployment after graduating. I’m also interested in working for Doctors without Borders, a program where I could travel while doing my job.
Any tattoos? Yes, two. My first tattoo is on my foot, and it says “8-3-1.” It means “I love you” – eight letters, three words, one meaning. My best friend and I got matching ones on her 18th birthday (we’ve been best friends since we were three). The other one… well… I’ll leave it up to you to guess.
Life goals: Have a successful career. Improve the world in some way. Act in a movie. Become a mother. Write a song. Write a book. Make my parents proud.
Favorite book: I don’t pick favorites, but I did grow up reading Harry Potter so I would say that’s my favorite series.
Favorite movie: I have a few: Garden State, Whale Rider, Forest Gump… The list goes on.
