Name: Bethany Codding

Hometown: Santa Rosa, CA

What activities are you involved in on campus: CPB Treasurer, Core member in FISH, German Club

What has been your favorite UP memory: Oh that’s a tough question! I love UP and all the experiences that I have had with my wonderful friends. I have to say I loved studying abroad last year in Salzburg, Austria. It was a fabulous experience to get to know a new culture and make new friends. One of my favorite experiences in Salzburg was climbing Untersburg, which is a small Alp on the outskirts of Salzburg. It was a beautiful view and a great hike. Oh, and Thursday Karaoke nights at O’Malley’s was always a good time!

What do you do in your free time: I’m trying to get more involved. Last weekend, I volunteered at the Portland food bank which was super fun. What I usually do in my free time to wind down is to go on runs. I just ran in the rain for the first time today and it was pretty nice. I also love art painting, but I haven’t done that since the summer.

What is your dream job: Oh my goodness! I love travelling and my job would probably involve travelling the world and painting. But what would be so cool would be to be a photographer for National Geographic. You would get to travel, see incredible places and learn about new things!

What is the strangest thing that you have done: I can’t really think of anything except skinny dipping stories.

What Dorothy loves about Portland is the PB&J cart on NW 23rd  St. and the 90's dances at the Crystal Ballroom.
I like places. I like people. I like stories; every place, and every person has a story. I want to write as many stories about that place and those people until the stories run dry. Which is...never. So I will continue to write. Please, tell me a story.
