Why UP?
I absolutely love this school and have met the most amazing people, from my friends to the professors and the priests. This school is a magnet for creative minds, passionate hearts, and strong leaders.
Three words to describe yourself
Adventurous. Outgoing. Determined.
On an average day what could we find you doing?
Surrounding myself with positive people who I can laugh and have fun conversation with. I enjoy running outside, indoor spinning class and catching my breath practicing yoga. Enjoying everything that nature has to offer and attempting to seize everyday.
Future aspirations?
I want to travel as much as I can and hopefully be able to work from any location, perferrably a beach. Hopefully own my own clothing store. My ultimate dream is to create a brand prompting ethical fashion around the globe, having the opportunity to meet the designers of the clothes I sell.Â
How did you get interested in fashion?
I have always loved clothes. One of my earliest childhood memories is digging through assorted fabrics cutting them into different shapes to design dresses for my Barbie’s. I would use tape, staples and thread to hold them together and they were beautiful disasters. During my experience traveling to Nicaragua on a service learning immersion, I was able to meet women who worked in clothing factories with horrible conditions with long hours and low pay. It inspired me to think more about ethical fashion and to ask more questions like where my clothes came from and who made them.
Who is someone you look to for style inspiration?Â
My sister is a main source of fashion inspiration for me. She is extremely artistic and has an eye for art and design. When we were growing up she would sketch outlines of women’s bodies so I would have a model to draw clothes on.
How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as bohemian. I am almost always wearing skirts or dresses even in the winter. I love fun bold prints that make a statement. My favorite store is Free People and usually can be found wearing at least one of their items with every outfit I throw together. I love their brand because their clothing is so versatile.
