Spring Break Adventures Around Portland

Believe it or not Spring Break is right around the corner. After all of the expenses that the beginning of the year brought on going too far isn’t going to be an option. Luckily, UP is in the perfect spot for some staycation adventures. Make this spring break a memorable one without having to break the bank. Here’s three ideas for some great adventures you don’t have to travel far for. 

1.   Gorge-ous hikes

The Gorge is filled with beautiful hiking only about 30 minutes away from campus. There’s tons of hikes to pick, from beginner to advanced. The views from the top will take your breath away, gurareenteed. Whether you’re looking for an easy morning workout or an intense 10 mile hike the Gorge with definitely have something for you. 2.   The Oregon coast

With Seaside, Oregon just 90 minutes away it’s easy to spend a day at the beach. Hop into Pop’s for some delicious ice cream, play Fascination at the arcade, check out the Seaside Aquarium, rent a surrey with friends or enjoy a variety or local shops and restaurants. Though the early March weather may not be ideal, Seaside is always a fun escape. 

3.   Mt. Hood

Head up to Mt Hood for some skiing. Just a little over an hour away Mt. Hood is a beautiful place to get away. If you love snowboarding and skiing this is the perfect oppurtunity for you and if not Mt. Hood has other options like innertubing and snowshoeing. No matter what activity you’re participating in Mt. Staying on campus is no excuse to stay in and not take advantage of all the Portland area has to offer. With just a little over a month until vacation start planning what Oregon adventures you may want to partake in!
