Although, with all the rain we have right now, it doesn’t really feel like spring, it is in fact on of the most beautiful seasons of the year, especially in the Portland area! I thought it would be fun to explore some of the fun things Oregon has to offer us during this great season! If you look into any of these cool activities be sure to check the weather and bring a rain jacket just in case!
1. Tulip Festival- Just a short 45 min drive from campus is Woodburn’s famous annual tulip festival! There’s nothing more exciting than a road trip with some friends to look at the beautiful farm and get your fill on tulips! It’s a great way to spend time with friends, grab lunch, and get outside on a nice day! When I think spring, tulips come to mind and I’m definitely going to be going here this year!
2. Oregon Zoo– What better way to spend a nice spring day than hanging out at the zoo! Check out super cool animals such as a cheetah, caracal, black howler money, leopard, and tons more! It’s a great way to get some vitamin D and a little exercise while looking at adorable animals and hanging with some girlfriends! I’ve never met anyone who didn’t have a fun time at the zoo!
3. Portland Japanese Garden– I’m pretty sure this garden is beautiful at all times during the year, but especially during the springtime! The garden a 5.5 acre area with five different gardening styles for you to enjoy. Fill you day with the peace, tranquility, and harmony that the garden has to offer and not to mention take in the beauty of Portland’s nature!
4. Ruby Jewel– Right on Mississippi Ave is an adorable ice cream shop called Ruby Jewel that not only sells ice cream, but also delicious homemade ice cream sandwiches! By now I’m sure we’ve all hit up Salt & Straw (probably a few too many times) and Ruby Jewel is a great new place to try out. Nothing says spring to me better than a delicious ice cream sandwich and you truly can’t go wrong here!
Happy Spring exploring and stay dry!
