It’s the 4th of July and it makes me want a hotdog real bad. (If this Legally Blonde 2 reference was lost on you, here’s some help). Like Elle Woods, I am a girl who likes to dress for occasions. Whether it’s themed events:
A football game:
I’m not afraid to express myself. (Don’t ask.)
Even with my usual fearlessness, it took me a little while to adjust to the B-Skinz patterns. I first decided to wear the B-Skinz capris to a Body Combat class. Yet, when I first walked out of the locker room, I felt a little ridiculous. Yes, the girl who isn’t afraid to put a bird puppet on top of her head felt ridiculous because of her pants. I felt self-conscious that the primary colors drew unnecessary attention to a girl who, *reality check* doesn’t even go to the school. It’s not that the pants didn’t reflect my own taste they just weren’t something that I was used to wearing to workout.
However, after I saw myself in that mirror in the aerobics room it all changed. I felt sassy. I was a pop of color in a sea of old white t-shirts and black sofees. I embraced it. I let go of my self-consciousness and let the excitement of a fun workout seep in. It was then that I realized the irony of the situation. I was self-conscious about my pants but I was perfectly okay with going to a class where you punch the air in front of you.
