Hey! My name is Carla. I have been a ballerina, a swimmer, a tennis player, a basketball player, a karate kid (Black Belt ‘06), a fencer, and a runner. Lately, however, I have been so consumed with school that I have been unable to take care of myself or my personal fitness. My exercise at school could be characterized as either running to class or running up and down the stairs to the dining hall.
Now that I’m spending my summer in New York, I hope to change that! With more direct control over my diet (hello new kitchen!) and my schedule, I want to find new ways to stay fit and healthy. For me, the point isn’t as much weight loss as it is taking care of my body and making sure I treat it with care. My goal, by the end of this summer, is to be super strong and– more importantly– much healthier in terms of what foods I eat.
Hopefully some outside accountability will keep me going to the gym and trying new and innovative ways to stay fit. (That being said, if anyone knows of any cool fitness classes in the city, please leave a comment! As much as I love my gym and yoga, I am interested in trying new things and letting y’all know how it goes).
I’m excited to embark on this journey of personal growth and fitness, and I hope y’all join me. Summer Slimdown, here we come!
