Still finishing up your holiday shopping? Whether you’ve only got a few things left to buy or you’re still sketching out ideas for the gift receivers in your life, this list is packed with ideas for friends, family, and significant others. From tea accessories to handmade presents to nonmaterial gifts, you’re sure to find something for the last few people on your list. To make it easier, I’ve separated it by person- scroll through gifts for parents, friends, and significant others! Read on for inspiration.
- Gifts for Mom
- Tea accessories: I know this one sounds a bit random, but if your mother is tea drinker (or if you have other tea drinkers in your life), consider a cute mug or a variety pack of teas. This works for the coffee and hot cocoa lovers, too: simply search for a novelty flavor or a nice brand they wouldn’t normally buy.
- Skincare: This is one that’s a win win: it’s a product you know your mom likes, and it’s something she’ll use! Save her a bit of money and an errand and help her stock up on her favorite skincare products— you’ll probably be able to find a gift set for a pretty good price at Ulta or Sephora.
- A relaxing experience: Moms are notorious for putting others before themselves. If your mother enjoys getting her hair or nails done, or is in desperate need of a massage or a facial, see if you can book her a spa day to focus on herself for a few hours.
- Gifts for Dad
- A wallet: A new wallet is a gift that will probably be appreciated; it’s the kind of thing that everyone needs but forgets to replace when it’s old or worn. If your father isn’t partial to the wallet he’s currently using, it’s an easy gift to find last minute!
- An experience: If there’s a comedian or musician coming to town that he’s wanted to see, try and snag tickets! Football, hockey, and basketball tickets are also options— if there’s something he wants to do, you might be able to make it happen.
- Vinyls: If your dad loves music, and has a record player, consider adding to his vinyl collection! It’s a gift he’s sure to use, and having his favorite album on vinyl is a thoughtful gift.
- Gifts for Friends
- Books: If you have some bookworm friends, grab the latest they’ve been eying. If you are the bookworm friend, grab a copy of a favorite that you know they’ll love, and wrap it up for your friend! It’ll be a conversation starter, and something relaxing they can do over winter break.
- Gift sets: Bath & Body Works, Ulta, and Target all have gift sets in abundance at this time of year. If you know your friend loves the scent of vanilla and is running low on lotion, or is in need of some new haircare, pick one up! They’ll get to try new products— or get some reliable favorites— and you’ll be able to save some money with a holiday deal.
- Pictures: It’s the time of year when college students are debating what to bring back to the dorm for the second semester. Make a collage of your favorite friendship photos that the group can bring back to school, to freshen up the walls in the new year!
- Gifts for Significant Others
- Subscriptions: If your significant other is a big film buff or you have a habit of movie date nights, or if they’re big readers, consider a one-year subscription to something like Max or Book of the Month! They’ll be able to support one of their hobbies for a year, and it can also be a nice way to spend some time together.
- Jewelry: This one depends on your person, but the classic initial necklace is always a sweet gift. If your significant other is big on earrings or necklaces, you could opt for a nice jewelry gift they wouldn’t buy for themselves.
- Make a care package! A basket full of things they love— candy, socks, perfume, coffee or tea (or hot cocoa!), a book or two, and maybe a cozy blanket, or whatever else your significant other loves, is a great way to help them stock up on their favorites and show them you know them well and care.
