The band 5 Seconds of Summer have spent the past year touring with the edm DJ duo The Chainsmoker. While on tour and with their break from the last album Youngblood, 5 Seconds of summer have been hard at work writing their new album, their fourth album. Between their album Youngblood and the upcoming album, due to drop on March 27th they released two songs Teeth and Easier.Â
When Teeth and Easier had dropped it was as two separate singles only later to find out they are two songs on the album titled CALM.Â
On January 21st, the boys each dropped a video of themselves on tour and writing music the end screen to each of their videos being the first letter of their name. In order of left to right of where the letter was placed it spelled out the name of the album when you put them together, C.A.L.M. Calum, Ashton, Luke and Michael. This title of their upcoming album borough back both a lot of joy and a lot of nostalgia to the members of the 5 seconds of summer fandom. The title CALM, comes from the beginning of the fandom when the combination of their initials were a very popular saying for the members of the fandom. That the fandom used CALM at the start of the bands career in everything and the very popular phrase of keep C.A.L.M. This feeling of nostalgia and hoy of the fandom was much needed after many fans were upset with their pairing up with the chainsmokers. With the album announcement and their upcoming tour a new era of 5 seconds of summer was born. The album is set to be released March 27, giving their fans enough time to get used to the music before their tour in May.Â
On February fifth the band dropped their single No Shame, with this announcement of the single. The title of the single, goes along with the title of their tour No shame. There are two legs of the No shame tour currently, a European leg and a North American Leg. The tour begins in May in Dublin, Ireland and ends in September in California, United States.Â

In terms of the song No Shame, it was very well perceived by the entire fandom. The sound was different from the sound of their previous songs released from the album a little more alternative and closer to the sound of a band like the stolen. With lyrics that speak more to the adult members of their fandom, we see that the band with the last three singles released and even the last album are maturing both their sound and their lyrics reflecting to their own maturity and age.Two days after the release of the single they dropped the music video that touched on past videos they did along with key issues in pop culture. All of this wrapped up in a visually appealing comedy piece.Â
With all the recent releases of music, tour, and videos the 5SOS fandom is excited and ready to support their band into this new era.
