A healthy lifestyle to support a healthy heart:
Â
I know what you’re thinking, isn’t heart health something old people have to worry about? Well yes, but it’s not a bad idea to start eating right and exercising at a young age. I have been doing a lot of research because I recently found out heart disease runs in my family. While I’m only 19, I have started to adapt my eating habits and daily exercise to reflect a healthy lifestyle. There is nothing wrong with eating right and taking care of your heart health.Â

Eating right has tons of benefits for your wellbeing and health. If you watch what you eat then there is a good chance you’re already taking care of your heart. The important thing to consider when choosing a snack or meal is the amount of fat intake. Calorie crunching is popular but watching saturated fats and trans fats are really important. Also, if you choose foods without ingredients you can’t pronounce, your heart will thank you later. Eating right is tough with all of the temptation and terrible ingredients found in almost all American foods, but it is possible.Â

Exercise, exercise, exercise… you’ve heard it before but I’m going to repeat it again. Exercise is one of the most important lifestyle changes you can make to ensure a healthy heart. I find taking a walk, or doing a fun workout class can be easy and rewarding. Aerobics is a great time and walks can be relaxing.Â
Â
While you probably don’t have to worry about having a heart attack anytime soon, it is always a good idea to be conscious of what you’re eating and exercising. Small changes in your diet can ensure a healthy heart and a healthy life.Â
