Why did you choose Behrend?
I wanted a good engineering school so I applied here and Drexel. I got accepted to both but didn’t want to go to Philly, plus I thought I could make the soccer team here.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
All the real standard things you see on the National Geographic Channel and Discovery and stuff, cause I’m a nerd. Like all the wonders of the world, ruins and whatnot. — sounds adventurous!
Who is your biggest role model?
My dad. He’s always provided for our family and has taught me how to be a simple man. Like if I grow up to be anything like him then I think I will have done well.
Who’s your celebrity crush?
I don’t really pay any attention to celebrities. My dad knows a lot of “celebrities” because of his job and he always tried to make us understand that they are just people like you and me. Except most of them are *cough, jerks*. While I appreciate their work and enjoy watching their stuff, I wouldn’t ever hold them in that high of esteem without knowing someone.
*I was more referring to celebrity cuties, if you have one.*
Well, they are all attractive. That’s why they have that job. Also, why I’d make a great actor (winks) but I don’t know. Carrie Underwood is hot and I like country a lot, so I guess her.
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
What isn’t interesting about me, but this is probably one that you could answer better than me.
After getting to know Wes the past two years, it is definitely safe to say he is a very interesting person.
He has von willebrand, which is a blood clotting disorder. I once gave him a paper cut and he bled for an hour – oops.
He is straight edge, which means no drinking or drugs.
He might be one of the ONLY people I know that does NOT have a smartphone. He still has his handy flip phone and iPod.
His roommate also happens to be his best friend from home.
Wes has also been cast as Jesus three separate times for church plays. One of those times, a different church reached out to him to play the role!
So, you are president of Delta Chi; what made you want to be president?
I was nominated and I wanted the chapter to elect whoever they thought would do the best job. I didn’t make the decision.
If you could pick a different major, what would it be? Why?
Something easy because mechanical engineering makes me want to jump off a bridge. (I think college does that to everyone, Wes.)
Who is your go-to person and why?
I don’t really think I have one, I don’t know. I never have much going on. I tell my mom everything though.
How was it winning Theta Phi Alpha’s Sapphire Man last year and should we expect to see you on stage again this year?
Awkward, I’ve always been ugly as heck (rolls eyes) and I understand that it’s all just kinda a joke and for charity and whatnot but just the idea was weird to me. And absolutely not, gotta give someone else a chance; plus I’m a judge.
Thanks for the A M A Z I N G interview Mr. President! HCXO
