There are few moments in life when your mind simply does not stop working. One of those is when you are walking to class. Let’s face it, there is nothing you can do to stop those trillions of thoughts, so why not embrace them? If you think about it, part of the college experience is learning how to walk from one class to the other when in reality you just want to be home. Those are moments where every student listens to music and often regrets the decision of getting out of bed in the morning. However, even if the music you listen to is too loud, I am sure you have had these thoughts when walking to class:
- Argh, I wish I was home watching Netflix.
-
Friends, The Office, The Bachelor, Game of Thrones… Whatever! Anything would be better than walking to this 8 a.m.
- How many minutes until I am done with this?
-
Resume skill: Advanced math. Life minored me in counting the minutes until I go home.
- Why am I taking this class, again?
-
Be honest, when am I ever using this in real life?Â
- What is the worst thing that would happen if I just don’t go?
-
Okay, the exams count for 70%, plus 20% of the homework and what is the other 10%?Â
- Wow, that girl is so pretty!
-
I want all her clothes and look at her hair! Don’t judge. People watching is part of college, isn’t it?
- What should I wear Friday night?
-
*thinks about the entire closet and realizes that it is time to online shop (again)*
- Is it lunchtime already? I feel like it is lunchtime. I am so hungry!
-
Okay, what should I eat after class? Or should I eat in class? I mean, I can’t study if I am hungry, right?
- Okay, how late am I?
-
I have two minutes to get there and, let’s face it, it is not happening. Ugh, I can’t believe I am late… again.
- WALK FASTER PEOPLE!
-
*slowly pushes people and curses silently*
- Okay, if I knew it was going to be this cold I wouldn’t have come.
-
How is it humanly possible to survive in this cold? I should have studied in California.
- Argh, I hate this class. Should I switch majors?
-
Imagine if I could major in time-wasting with a minor in failure…
- OMG, I love this song!
-
*hums song hoping that no one will notice when in reality everyone does*
- The week is almost over! I can do this!
-
3 more days, be strong!
- MONDAY? IT IS STILL MONDAY?
-
What calendar are they using that every day is Monday?Â
- There wasn’t any homework, RIGHT?
-
I think there was, but I really hope not. I am officially nervous right now.Â
- Did someone just call my name?
-
I don’t want to see anyone! Ignore, ignore, ignore!
- What am I doing after class?
-
Napping, obviously.
- Okay, pretend like you don’t see that person so you don’t say hi.
-
I think they didn’t see me. Walk faster just in case!Â
- I should have slept earlier, I am too tired for this.
-
Why did I do this to myself? Why was I watching TV until 3 a.m.?Â
- Is that my bus? Whatever, I am going home.
-
That is definitely a signal for me to go home and who am I to question the Universe? It’s okay, I will go to class tomorrow.
