The wait for the next episode of “The Handmaid’s Tale” is on, and if you’re in need of something to watch until the next episode hits Hulu, we’ve got you covered!
1. “Jane the Virgin”
Not only does Jane take being accidentally artificially inseminated with grace, she spends the series fighting to be the ultimate role model for her son while even putting his well-being before matters of her own heart. What’s even more amazing is she’s able to find her strength through herself, her mother and her abuela.
2. “Hidden Figures”
Behind every great accomplishment is a great woman or group of women who helped make it happen. “Hidden Figures” tells the story of three black NASA women employees who fought gender and racial inequality to play a vital role in sending John Glenn into space.
3. “Suffragette”
This movie shows the brutal reality of women fighting as a part of the Women’s Social and Political Union for women’s suffrage in the United Kingdom. Standing up for their beliefs meant losing their families and their jobs and facing extreme police brutality.
4. “Broad City”
Broad City uses humor to show women expressing their most genuine selves. It doesn’t have to be pretty to be real and Ilana and Abbi always make sure to tell it like it is.
While there are tons of tv shows and films with women taking control of their lives and fighting for what’s right, you can’t go wrong with these gems! Keep calm collegiettes, “The Handmaid’s Tale” will be back before you know it!
