It can be hard to keep your tiny dorm room you share with another human being smelling clean. But these things will definitely help.
Â
- KEEP THE WINDOW OPEN
-
My roommate and I always keep the window open, even if it is raining. The second one of us closes it, we notice the room automatically feels more stuffy. It also keeps it a little cooler at night.Â
Â
- Febreeze Small Spaces
-
These things are game changing. I usually keep two in my room one near the trash can and one near the door and it always smells fresh. I prefer the linen scent but the floral one is great as well!
Â
- Oil Diffuser
-
I have an oil diffuser in my room because it is therapeutic and gives off natural and earthy scents. Lavender or tea tree is always diffusing in my room for a light scent.Â
Â
Â
- Wax Warmer
-
Since candles are not allowed in dorms, this is the closest we can get. I use my wax warmer with scents like cashmere, Frasier fir and anything that I can get at Bath and Body Works. This gives off a stronger scent than the oil diffuser, so if you are sensitive to smells, I would invest in an oil diffuser.
- Lysol
-
Ever since I have arrived at college, I have turned into a neat freak. I wipe down my desk almost every day and most importantly, I spray the floors and other surfaces with Lysol because, there are a lot of germs, and it gives the room a clean smell.
Â
- Take the trash out and clean the fridge
-
These may seem obvious, but it is crucial to keep up with your trash can and not let it pile up. Every week or so, clean out the fridge and get rid of food you didn’t eat because it will keep you from having expired foods and drinks!
