By now you’ve probably heard about Penn State’s upcoming annual music festival Movin’ On. It’s a big year for Movin’ On being that it’s their 40th anniversary and their first time in their new location pictured here:

The lineup for this year has ton of great artists, although a lot of them are less well known than the headliner Wiz Khalifa who is a Pittsurgh native. I’ve taken it upon myself to give you guys a preview of all of the artists and I hope you’re as excited as I am to go see them!

Lenina Crowne (Battle of the Bands Winner)

Time: 2:45 pm

Genre: Indie Rock

Best Song:

These guys are Penn State’s own Battle of the Bands winner so they’ve got to be good! This is their winning performance from Battle of the Bands that led them to the opening Movin’ On spot so let’s hope this song gets an encore.

Air Dubai

Time: 3:30 pm

Genre: Alternative Rap

Best Song:

Warning (Feat. Patrica Lynn)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbdoVOBKkTc

Admittedly, I had never heard of Air Dubai until I listened to this song and I’m really into it. This is the perfect kind of festival music that’s fun to dance and listen to! If you like them a lot at Movin’ On they are playing Warped Tour this summer so you can check them out there! Disclamer: Don’t watch this video with a hangover, there is a lot of spinning.

Sky Ferreria

4:30 pm

Genre: Alternative/Indie

Best Song:

Lost in My Bedroom

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTJ2XkX7YRQ

I have to be honest here, I have a soft spot for this one because it was on the playlist where I worked last summer and every time it would come on at work I rocked out. Also don’t watch this video if you have epilepsy, be safe people.

Aloe Blacc

6:00 pm

Genre: R&B/Pop

Best Song:

The Man

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm660vIn8Tg

I know what you’re thinking now! Ohhhhh, that song! Yup the man himself is coming to Penn State, and he’s coming FOR FREE! If you don’t live on planet earth and haven’t heard The Man yet, Aloe Blacc is also the vocalist from Avicii’s hit Wake Me Up.

Fitz and the Tantrums

7:30 pm

Genre: Alt Rock

Best Song:

Out of My Leauge

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4mbxaa3XL8

I’ve been rocking out to this song since I got it as a free download from Starbucks (shoutout Starbucks!) Their newest song The Walker was also featured in Ellen’s Oscar commercials which means they have to be good, right?

Wiz Khalifa

Headliner: 9:00 pm

Genre: Rap/Hip-Hop

Best Throwback Song:

Black and Yellow

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UePtoxDhJSw

You know I had to.

Best Song:

We Dem Boyz

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX6K7waag5Q

In a last minute change Wiz Khalifa has replaced A$AP Rocky as the headliner, but being that he’s an arguably bigger name and a Pennsylvania native I’m not too upset. His new song We Dem Boyz is a great driving song and throws out a ton of good vibes.

Even though I was initially disappointed with the lineup after listening to all of the artists it’s going to be a great festival. See you there!
