There is nothing more straining than the transition from the calm of winter break to the eruption of chaos that comes with second semester. Especially here at Penn State, one is bombarded with new classes, Greek Rush and THON™ preparation.

Finding a solid rhythm back into the hussle and bussle of college life can be challenging. Even so, there are a few hacks that can aid in freshening up your routine.

Here are nine ways to revive your college day-to-day:

Cleanse and declutter

Take the time to fully purge your space. Whether it’s your closet or old school notes, there is nothing more refreshing than starting anew.

With the dawn of the new year, you’ll want to have the ability to find different items and memories.

Redecorate

Redesigning and reviving your living area is mentally cleansing. Incorporating new colors or small details like plants offer a sense of freshness that will motivate you to take care of yourself and your academic work.

Amazon posters are always a reliable route in kick starting your room makeover.

Purchase new organizers

There is nothing more satisfying than color-coding your various assignments and to-dos, and what better way to execute such themes than through new and improved organizers.

Keep the motivational energy up this year by devoting time to write down your goals and organize your thoughts. Truly, checking off items on your to-do list is the greatest serotonin boost.

Keep yourself busy with planned social activities

Keep yourself moving and growing. Make sure you’re continuing to reach out to friends and plan fun, social outings despite the cold weather.

Whether suggesting a coffee run or gym excursion, take the time to soak in your friend’s energy and socialize with them to fuel the soul. After all, we’re social creatures and there is always room to improve communication skills.

Set aside time and stay true to exercising

As college students, we’re so fortunate to have access to such awesome facilities. Take advantage of this, and get yourself moving.

Better yet, plan to go with some pals to help hold yourself accountable. Even if it’s just a simple walk on the treadmill or zen yoga session, your body will love you for it.

The post gym glow is real.

Get Involved

Work to expand your connections and involvement around campus. You don’t need to be throwing yourself in all different directions, but there is nothing wrong with going out of your comfort zone and taking a chance on unexplored avenues.

There is so much you can get out of being in clubs or organizations including new skills and friendships. Remember, there is no harm in trying.

expand your horizons with New study spots

New areas can generate fresh-brain energy and stimulation to get you on your grind. Make the effort to explore areas around campus and get yourself curious.

There is nothing more exhilarating than discovering niche spots to claim and find comfortability in.

Restrict Screen time

Screen time is everyone’s guilty pleasure, but sometimes to be productive the screens must be turned off.

Don’t worry the humorous Tik-Toks and long-awaited snaps will still be there after your productive grind.

Alter your routine habits

Read before bed or try new facial products. These small alterations can help create a little spice to your schedule while still instilling an improved enthusiasm for the day ahead.

All in all, small tweaks to your college day-to-day can prompt an impressive transformation. You’ll approach each day with a freshly grown vision of motivation and energy. You’re more than capable, so get to it!
