Noah Kahan has become a household name over the past year following the release of his third studio album “Stick Season.” The folk-pop singer-songwriter is originally from Vermont, an aspect that he infuses into every song he writes.
The original “Stick Season” album was first released in October 2022 and its deluxe, “Stick Season (We’ll All Be Here Forever)” was later released in June 2023.
Kahan took to Instagram on Jan. 31 to announce the final piece of the “Stick Season” era, which will be titled “Stick Season (Forever)” and is set to be released Feb. 9, 2024.
The final pieces of the album will contain a brand-new song “Forever,” as well as re-records of “You’re Gonna Go Far” featuring Brandi Carlile and “Paul Revere” featuring Gregory Alan Isakov.
Kahan’s unreleased song, “Forever,” had listeners immediately hooked and the short sound clip was all over TikTok even before the announcement of its upcoming release.
“Stick Season” is the album that shot Kahan to fame, with his most popular songs being “Stick Season” and “Dial Drunk (with Post Malone).” Since the internet’s obsession with the singer-songwriter, Kahan has brought other artists to be featured on a number of his songs, including Gracie Abrams, Sam Fender and Hozier.
His recent successes have given Kahan the opportunities of performing as music guest for “Saturday Night Live,” as well as talk shows like “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Most recently, Kahan received his first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist as a result of his recent music hitting it off amongst listeners. Although he didn’t win, his work is still incredibly loved by fans and respected within the music industry.
Kahan and his band have been on their “Stick Season” Tour since 2022 and it looks like they have no plans of stopping anytime soon. In September, Kahan announced that he would be starting his “We’ll All Be Here Forever” Tour, kicking off in March.
His highly anticipated upcoming tour allows for Kahan to perform at larger venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York and Fenway Park in Boston. Within the week of tickets being released, the tour was nearly sold out and his team later was able to add dates in certain sold out cities.
With preparations for the upcoming release of “Stick Season (Forever),” fans have been wondering if Kahan will be announcing a tour aligning with the upcoming releases. Could we see another leg of “Stick Season” in 2025?
In an interview with Rolling Stone at Spotify’s Best New Artist Party, Kahan stated that he’s currently working on new music and starting to work on his new album. He didn’t include any details about possible future releases, as he’s primarily focusing on touring through September.
While it’s sad that the “Stick Season” era is coming to a close, at least we know that Kahan isn’t going anywhere. It seems like he’s worked tirelessly for years to finally be in the spotlight, so there’s nobody who deserves success more than him.
Hopefully, his upcoming release of new and revised music will bring in more fans and eventually lead him to release another album that’s just as, if not more, iconic than the OG “Stick Season.” In the meantime, “Stick Season (Forever)” will be released on Feb. 9.
